How it works!

Follow the step-by-step instructions
STEP 1
Register for a student room

You can register at Klik voor Kamers if you are following a study programme at an educational institution in the Netherlands or will be doing so within the next year. Registration at Klik voor Kamers is free of charge. Click on the button below and enter your personal details at My Klik voor Kamers.

STEP 2
Stay informed of suitable range

If you want to receive notifications by e-mail when a suitable student room becomes available for you, just create a search profile with your requirements.

STEP 3
Find a student room

When you log in to ‘My Klik voor Kamers’ and click on ‘Suitable range’ you will see the rooms you can respond to. Which rooms you can respond to depends on your age.

If you are aged between 16 and 18, you can respond to rooms. If you are aged between 18 and 27, you can respond to rooms and independent student studios. Once you have reached the age of 27, you can only respond to independent student studios.

STEP 4
Respond to interesting adverts

Click on the photo of the student room for information such as habitable area, energy label, position, photos and much more. If you are interested in a room, click on ‘Respond’ at the bottom of the page.

STEP 5
Do you qualify?

Once the advertisement period has expired, the system selects the first eligible candidate. Who this is, depends on how Klik voor Kamers offers the accommodation. There are various ways:

  • Registration period - those who have been registered for the longest period of time are offered the room first.
  • First to respond - the person who responds first is offered the room.
  • Draw - we select the first candidate at random from all responses. In this case, it doesn’t matter how long you have been registered
STEP 6
Coming for a viewing?

If you are the selected candidate, you will receive an e-mail with instructions from Klik voor Kamers. You have 24 hours to state whether you want to view the room. If you fail to reply or reply too late, the offer will expire and the room will be offered to the next candidate. You can let us know whether or not you want to rent the room after the viewing.

Note: If you do not reply to an offer for two times or you refuse more than three rooms in a short period of time, we will block your registration for three months.

If you are not selected for a room, you can follow the course of the offer process on ‘My Klik voor Kamers’ under My responses and find out if you still have a chance of getting the room.

STEP 7
The housing association checks your details

The housing association will check your details when you accept the room after viewing it. The offer is then made final and you can sign the tenancy agreement.

Note: if you refuse the room during this phase, you will incur costs.
